| Schooner Irma
April 29, 1925 —Everyone survived when the schooner, Irma, ran aground at Kill Devil Hills, NC. Pieces of this shipwreck are often visible on the Bonnet Street beach.
The remaining wreckage is displayed in this great aerial shot. Under North Carolina law, shipwrecks are property of the state and must stay put unless marked as “dangerous.”
