The steamer USS Peterhoff, under the command of Capt. Jarman, departed Hampton Roads for Wilmington, NC on February 28. On board was 6 passengers with passports obtained from the Mexican consul in London. She collided with the USS Monticello on March 6, 1864 and sank.
