The New York Shipping and Commercial List, 1815-1873, reported that on October 29th the schooner
Mary, home port Elizabeth City, was en route from Inagua Islands to Baltimore with a cargo of guano, when she "went ashore on Ocacock Bar ... an will be a total loss." The captain, his wife and crew were all drowned.
