Schooner Dolphin ~ 30 October 1749

On this day in 1749 the schooner Dolphin, bound for Bath, encountered a strong storm. While attempting to enter the inlet the wind and seas caused his ship to be driven on the Ocracoke bar and later on shore at Ocracoke Island.
